Google Maps Dominates Local SEO Marketing for Movers
Google Maps pulls results from “Google My Business” dashboards. MoversBoost is going to detail actual client examples, best practices, and rationale behind our strategies; end result is more local rankings, website traffic, direct phone calls, exclusive leads and booked moving jobs.
1) Are You Ranking Number ONE in Your City?
If you read our specific guide on overall Search Engine Marketing for Moving Companies, you know it’s a fools game to rely on that one magical keyword, or one magical city to drive growth and revenue for your moving business. However, you should still keep your eye on the prize. Google Maps rules the roost for local SEO marketing because it shows ABOVE regular results. This is compounded, because Google Ads shows up to 4 ads above the Maps! This means a prospect has to scroll multiple view ports just to find you, even organically. View our Google Ads for Moving Companies write-up to see why taking up virtual real estate is critical to winning.
2) Generic Traffic from Google Maps
Typically brand names will appear in these Google Maps query results, but this is a client who is performing extremely well, and beyond what they “should” be allowed to rank for, based on the limited branding and other website traffic sources. Here we can see very relevant service keyword searches, with the top 3 being “moving companies” “moving companies near me” and “movers near me”. The “near me” is important to note, because it’s not as simple as a CITY + Movers search query. These are the blood bath, ultra generic keywords. Only the most optimized websites, Google Maps, and overall SEO campaigns can win these “I know nothing about you, but I’m looking for your moving business” keywords.
3) Optimizing Your Google My Business Listing
If you do not have a Google Maps listing, go to Google My Business and submit your basic information. Google will send a physical piece of mail to your Office or Home Address. If it’s a home address, you can hide your address, and just put service area. Be sure to add all your major categories such as:
Moving Company, Storage Facility, Piano Moving Service, Packaging supply store, Moving and storage service, Delivery Service.
Add all your major cities, towns and counties you service. Do not put national here, as it’s a waste. Add specific areas and you will perform much better. A tight circle looks to have the best results, versus wide targeting.
Google Maps Products for Moving Companies
Fill out all your “products” as a Mover. Most of our clients offer the same types of services such as:
Residential (Home / Apartment), Commercial, Labor / Unloading and Loading, One Piece Heavy Furniture, Furniture Pickup & Delivery, Furniture Assembly, Local Moves, Long Distance Moves, Piano, Specialty Moves, Junk Removal, Moving and Packing, Senior Assisted, Storage Facility, Safe Vaults, Computer and Electronics, Military / Government, Freight & Logistics.
This logic can also be applied to the “Services” section of your Google My Business listing. Do not make Google guess what your moving business offers, and your true service areas.
Google My Business posts for Movers
Show your prospects and the Search Engine Algorithm your business and map listing are active. We create posts once per week, and we also create hundreds of posts to cover every single service and service area.
Gallery: Media Marketing for Movers
This client examples shows 22,000 image views in the last quarter for this client, compared to their competition who received on average 4,600 image views. “Your Photos receive 387% more views than similar businesses”. MoversBoost mass downloads our clients media: Photos and Videos. We then rename them to support their services and service areas, and add EXIF data inside each photo with data such as Zip codes or additional keywords. We then mass upload to Google Maps, the website, and a network of 3rd party websites linking back to our clients.
4) Your Local SEO Map & Website are Intertwined
You cannot assume Google Maps lives in a vacuum, completely separate from your other internet marketing variables. Your local SEO efforts are compounded when you have a professional moving company website design, combined with best overall SEO practices, such as a large website, targeting all your services and service areas.
Your website needs to have good time on site, meaning a low bounce rate. If they hit the back button and go to a competitor, do you think that is a bad signal? Of course, and Google’s engineers are brilliant, and ensure user experience is the KING factor in all factors related to online marketing for moving businesses.
Rewarded With Exclusive Red Hot Phone Call Leads & Website Traffic
Google Maps phone calls are extremely targeted, and therefore high quality. If you have a 5 star reputation, your lead rate will increase, and your bookings will close more frequently. An 8 minute cold call lead shows how powerful local search engine optimization can be when done perfectly. Imagine getting an extra 134 phone call leads each month and a few hundred extra visitors to your website, all because of your Google Map SEO keyword listings. Be sure to read our Google Ads guide, because it shows how to put your Map listing right above all your competitors in every city you operate.
Results? Hundreds of Exclusive Phone Call and Form Submission Leads
We have clients receiving hundreds of phone calls and lead form submissions each month. Best of all, they are 100% EXCLUSIVE. MoversBoost understands the role shotgun Free-For-All Lead providers offer, but the best thing is these leads are warmed up, red hot, and specifically contacting you for you – not just a quote. There is a huge difference between a high quality lead, and a tire-kicker. Just ask one of our clients.
We believe that it all comes down to proof. An outstanding SEO company should always be able to show you substantiated examples and case studies of other Moving Company clients who have had great success using their services. Here is one such example for a client in Atlanta, Georgia who work in an extremely competitive market. We have been able to get them top page placement on major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing for a number of their most important keywords in their area.
